the Ready Steady Go!THE READY STEADY GO!
The Ready Steady Go! is an action-packed six piece band that blends Two Tone ska, rock n roll, and soul.  The band hailing from Washington, DC is often described as Elvis Costello meets the Specials and the Clash.  The RSG! formed in November 2001 with former members of the Ratchet Boys and the Checkered Cabs (Moon Satellite) and current members of DC's ska-jazz powerhouse Eastern Standard Time (Grover).  Six months after forming, the band took the DC scene by storm playing in the DC area frequently.  In the summer of 2002, the RSG! recorded a six song EP entitled Hotter Than Hell.  The EP includes catchy tunes like “No No No” and “Jet Set Girl”, as well as reggae numbers like “Hotter Than Hell”Asian Man Records handpicked their song “Broken Heart” out of 600 submissions to be featured on the label’s unsigned bands compilation.  This compilation, called Underground Screams, highlights top-notch unsigned bands and is distributed internationally.
Aside from being in the Ready Steady Go! some members of the band play in different styled bands including the Alphabet Bombers (Spindrift) and Villa Rosie.  In addition, other members run Rude in DC Productions, a company devoted to supporting the DC underground music scene by setting up shows, making merchdise for bands, and running a distro.
In less than two years the band has played with many diverse bands in numerous venues in the DC Metropolitan area.  Some of the bands include: the Pietasters (DC), the ShakeDowns (VA), the Agenda (GA), Spitfire (Russia), Coolie Ranx (NY), King Django (NY), the High School Hellcats (MD), the Gamma Rays (MD), and Eastern Standard Time (DC).  Some of the venues include: the 9:30 Club (DC), the Sidebar Tavern (MD), the Royal Lee (VA), and Renzo’s (MD).
The band is currently recording a full-length and is concentrating on bringing their highly infection and danceable fusion of ska, rock, and soul to audiences up and down the East Coast.
