This reggae soul songbird describes her music as "food for
the soul." Denise De La Cruz claims, "Writing and
making music is as essential to me as breathing." Her audience
and peers in the New York City music scene have often described
her music as a breath of fresh air. With songs like
"Journey of Love (What is it?), "Come

it's pretty clear whythe messages are straight forward, enveloped
in soulful catchy hooks that leave listeners feeling understood
and good all over.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, De La Cruz has been honing her voice,
melodies and Rhythms professionally since 1994 and has recently
been creating quite the buzz in her hometown of New York City.
Denise De La Cruz's rich alto voice was first heard on the Spanish

4 Me (2002, Ovum Records).
Denise is no stranger to the stage. She's performed with many NYC-

spiritual messages delivered in a soulful, blues-y, groove-driven
style and wrapped up in hope. Reggae soul is the tapestry of music
that has touched Denise and influenced her musical and spiritual
